Prompt: Are the characters realistic? Why or why not?

Alex's mom is not your regular mom, but I think that her actions are due to what has happened to her in the past. To me, Alex's mom wouldn't really win "The Best Mother Award" but I can see that she tries her best. Alex's mom is someone who truly cares about her son, but doesn't really know how to show it. She isn't really the type to show sympathy, but you can tell that she tries her best. I predict that in the end, Alex and his mom's relationship will grow and they will both learn how to be grateful for one another.
Laurie, his best friend is also someone that I see as some of my friends. She is described as this beautiful girl that looks like the punk version of Tinker Bell. Alex says that Laurie was the first person to talk to him when they went to school together. Laurie seems like a friend that has been there for a long time, and will be there forever. What I really like about Laurie and what reminds me of some friends is how caring she really is. Even though she can joke around and get annoying sometimes, she really cares, and whenever Alex came up with a stupid idea, Laurie would be there questioning him, to make sure everything would go well.
Wow! This book sounds very twisted. Sometimes there are books that are TOO twisted that it sounds really fictional but this is the right kind of twisted that I am able to believe this story. I agree that the characters are realistic. Great blog pots this week, Citlalli!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sarai, this sounds like a twisted book (and also one I would read). I've read books by this author before and I liked them a lot. Maybe I'll have to read this book :D
ReplyDeleteI can see your point of view in how you think Alex is the most realistic. His emotions he has towards all he has gone through makes sense. I've actually read a different book from the same author and that book also has a realistic tone to it. I recommend that you should read it. It's called *Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie*.
ReplyDeleteI commented on Nadrian, Leanna, and Marisa's blogs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that he goes down the wrong path. Do you think he'll change by the end?
