The Lost Hero - November 4

Pages read: 197
Prompt: Reflect on your reading.

To be honest, this past month I have really sucked at reading, because I am on my third blog of The Lost Hero and I'm not even half way done. It's not that I don't like the book but I either have absolutely no time to read or I'm busy watching Criminal Minds, oops. I am planning on actually reading a lot more and getting caught up. Actually, I'm thinking of starting it over because I haven't read in a little over a week, so just a refresher, I'm probably going to start reading the book over.

So far in the book, a lot has happened, everything about the new demigods are basically revealed; they were sent to the camp to train because they need to go on a quest to try and save Hera. this may seem quite easy, but each of them don't even know each other and they all have secrets that they are hiding from each other. In my opinion, I believe that Piper has the biggest secret; she knows that when they do save Hera, she will need to betray Leo and Jason, I am predicting, by killing both of them. I can see why she would want to kill them; Jason is the son of Zeus, one of the big three, and Leo has overcome the biggest "curse" on his cabin in years.

One thing, that I feel is necessary to address about this book is that it is so well-written. It has "big" words, but Rick Riordan makes the context clues so easy to follow that you learn a new word without even thinking about it. I also believe that he captures everyone with his writings, I am not really into sic-fi and action and myth but he makes it relatable and adds a touch of realistic fiction and romantic comedy that I can't help but read. I honestly really just love this book and i can't believe that I stopped reading for such a long time.

  1. I like how you explained the characters thoroughly for anyone who hasn't read it. It kind of helps and gives them a jump start/background information to anyone wanting to start.

  2. What got you interested into reading a book like this? This all reminds of sixth grade when we were learning about Greek Mythology. The same is happening in my book with these "big" words, but it is quite a challenge. I definitely forgot what happen to Hera. Why does Piper have to kill Leo and Jason? Amazing blog!
