Deal With a Ghost by Marilyn Singer

Deal is also a girl with determination. When Deal tell herself or others that she is going to accomplish something, she does it, no matter how hard she needs to work for it. Throughout the second chapter, Deal makes it a responsibility to open and know what is inside her grandmother's metal box that was thrusted into the back of her closet. The box was locked so she tried to open it with a bobby pin but it bent, when she was going to get tweezers she heard her grandmother come back from getting groceries. She put it back and now she tells herself that she needs to open that box and see what secrets hide in it. I believe I can have a lot of determination, just like Deal whenever I put my head into doing something, I have to do it or I will feel like I let myself down.
The main character and I are also alike because we both over think. On page 25, Deal is alone in her kitchen and she starts to over think. She starts to over think about her school, and how people say it is haunted, she over thinks on her crush and how she could get him to like her. I tend to do that a lot, during school or at home, whenever I'm alone I tend to over think things. Sometimes it's over homework, clothes, maybe even celebrities! Deal and I both try to make the best out of situation and maybe that is why we both over think and try to come up with solutions to any of our conflicts.
Deal and I are both alike in many ways and throughout the story, I know we will just be more a like.
Citlalli,
ReplyDeleteThis seems like an interesting book. I especially like how you added more than one example on how you are like Deal. It's always great to be able to relate to a fictional character. I wonder what the other characters are like. I might read this soon. Great blog post!
I'm intrigued by her name. Do they go into detail as to why this is her name?
