Ida B - Week of 11/11/13

Prompt: After reading, I wonder . . .
Pages Read: 49 - 70

After reading the next few chapters in Ida B I have a few questions on my mind. Ida makes a really deep statement that confuses and amazes me, "I've learned that even when you think you're in heaven, you need to stay alert and have a plan. Some things are  very hard to plan for though." This really got me thinking because it might mean that something really bad is bound to happen. I wonder what will happen and how much it will affect her. I think it will have to do something with her family because before. they were all sitting at the dinning table and none of them were talking and for Ida B's family it was too quite.

Another question I have wondered about is how does Ida B talk to all of her surroundings, like the trees and ponds? Ida B has a really amazing connection with her surroundings, so far in the book, Ida B has talked to the trees and a pond by her house.I find it fascinating that she can communicate, and how she treats her surroundings as real people. Ida knows how the trees feel and she even gives characteristics to each tree. I wonder if it is all real, or if she has such a realistic imagination. Something about how the author wrote about the trees responding makes it seems real, like only she can hear them talk to her, and I predict that maybe she will use these special "powers" to change the world!

Finally, I wonder about how Ida B goes by with homeschooling, I feel like homeschooling has some advantages but has more disadvantages. In my opinion, homeschooling prevents you from meeting new people, and going through with talking to people from all around the town. Ida B gives some examples as to why she doesn't like going to a school, but to me, I feel like she will have a tougher time meeting new people in the future, like for job interviews. I wonder if maybe throughout the book Ida B changes her thoughts about going to school, and maybe she will go to school.
