"Looking Back" - Reflective Blog

Looking back at all of the blogs I have done I think that the one on the left is my favorite. I remember that this blog, was the first one where I actually did some research from what I read to have a better idea of the background of the book and to be able to talk about the book in more depth. In this blog, I was talking about the book If I Have A Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince?, the pictures in this blog seem pretty random right? Well they really aren't! In the book the author talks about how the main character, Lucy, has two paintings in her room that her parents had bought her. They named the two paintings, and I was very interested to see if these paintings were real or not, so I looked them it, and it turns out that they were both actually really famous paintings. The pictures on that blog were pictures of the paintings that the author had mentioned. I think that this really shows how a book can encourage you to learn.

Now that I am looking back at my blogs, I have seen that I have grown in my writing, it may not be a huge change, but I can certainly see how I have improved. For example, in my very first blog, I used a lot of boring words like "happy" and "careful" as I look at the more recent ones, I still use those words but now I use bigger, more challenging words like cheerful and cautious. Also, looking from the first few blogs to the most recent blogs, I can tell that I can summarize books a lot better. I used to give the main point and then just point out details that weren't necessarily important, but now, I know what the main point of a book is, and all of the important details.

In conclusion, looking back from my first to my last and all of the blogs in-between, I learned a lot from how to use bigger and better word choice to figuring out the main idea and key details. I think that as time progresses I will learn a lot more! (:
