There is one thing you need to know before you think I am surrendering, I am proud of what I did, and I do not regret any part of it. I am confessing to this murder because I believe that I should finally give the authorities a break, and earn the fame that I think I now deserve. Now, as you know, Fortunato has done me some great deal of wrongs. And my aphorism is "Nemo me impune lacessit." No one. And I mean no one will ever hurt me in any way and carry on with their lives. This Fortunato, what you need to know is that he is so arrogant. Oh my! This man would never close his mouth about tasting this wine, or the history of this wine. On one fine evening day, I asked Luchesi one day to have a taste of a wine that I had bought because to be honest, I have no clue as to what is the difference. When Fortunato found out about this, he walked straight to my house and told me that I was the laughingstock of the neighborhood for consulting Luchesi about it when he couldn't tell a Amontillado from a Sherry.

The Montresors' catacombs mean a lot to me. And I knew that they needed a bit of a touch up, so why not kill two birds with one stone? When I did decide to kill him, 20 years ago, I was a panicky youngster and I just wanted to get the action over with. Now, I wish the kill would have left some meaning. Maybe killing him in his wine cellar, now wouldn't that make it in the paper? All in all, the idea just came to me one day, when I was drawing an upside-down "X" on Fortunato's face on a newspaper article, back in my home in Italy. After that day, I worked on an efficient way to get Fortunato at his weakest point and having no one notice. I guess it was my little secret.
You might be thinking where I am now, well my dear friends, I am living happily back in Scotland, where my ancestors were from. That's actually where my motto originated from. I am living happily on my own. I am now getting weak, so I do not fear what comes to me in prison. Thank you for your time, my dearest friends. I am so relieved to have finally said this. My dearest wishes to you all. Cheers!
I really enjoyed this post. Because I picked the same prompt thing I like to see what other people came up with as well. I think you really captured what Montresor was like and I enjoyed reading this! Great job! ;D
ReplyDeleteI liked that your narrative included the true thoughts of Montresor. I think it was great how you sticked with the personality of Montresor instead of making him a "nicer" person. I feel like you narrative was suspenseful, how you seemed to include a plot diagram within your story. Your story was extremely creative do to the reason that you included his life after the death of Fortunato. I enjoyed how you choose Scotland. Great Narrative!
ReplyDeleteI think this is super good. I love how you showed us one of the ways that Fortunato Hurt montresor. I think that this is super creative. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow v cool, Citlalli. I liked how you used parts from the story like how Luchesi couldn't tell Amontillado from Sherry. I think that this narrative may be the most "realistic" to the story. Great narrative! :-))
ReplyDeleteYour blog is great! I feel like Montresor would really think these things about Fortunato . After awhile I think Montresor would want the fame that he thought he deserved and confess. I think it's cool how Montresor admits his faults, although crazy. I researched where nemo me impune lacessit came from, too!
ReplyDeleteI commented on Athziry, Abdiel, Maria, and Julia's blogs.
