"Atticus, my father"
"he.. does.. his.. best to love everybody.
Atticus is ...
real courage,
he is..
proud of himself
he is ...
the humblest
he is ...
the bravest man ...
who ever lived.
'You never really understand a person ...
until you climb inside of his skin'
he used to say.
he ..held..his.. head high and ..
those fists down
there is ... no reason for ...him.. not to try to him"

I knew I wanted to do a poem of Atticus because he is one of the most inspiring characters of the book so far because he is full of life lessons and he is just a well-rounded person in general. Even though he has said some really memorable things, I thought that this poem would mean a little more if it was written as if Scout had written it. In the poem, I really wanted to capture the biggest characteristics that I, personally, see in Atticus. One thing that I really loved about writing this poem is that the part where it says that he kept his fists down and held his head high, that was advice that he had given Scout and I just smiled at the thought of Scout thinking about advice that she was given and seeing it reflected back onto him.
ReplyDeleteI really did enjoy your poem it was great how you included the character traits that form the character Atticus. I also did my poem on Atticus and I focused on his views on society and social injustice. I liked how you described his opinions when it comes to courage and of course bravery. The part that I liked about your poem was that you included his strong fatherly figure. Great Poem Post.
